Our Programs: 

Compassion in Fashion:


Globally fashion is associated to enhance style, beauty and glamour. Many fashion weeks & shows make an attempt to provide platform for fashion awareness which is an effort to feel and look beautiful. Can Compassion enhance beauty and if so than can we come together and ask ourselves:


1.    How can compassion be in Fashion?

2.    What efforts are required in the fashion industry which can facilitate to enhance compassion?

3.    How can we bridge gap between fashion and compassion to support humanitarian efforts?

Our objective: 

 

1.   To bridge gap between fashion and disability sector by promoting products made by developmentally challenged individuals

2.   To spread global awareness about inclusive society and fashion with compassion by involving developmentally challenged individuals to showcase and integrate their work in the fashion arena

How we can collaborate?

       

1.   Allocating space to display apparels and/or/ fashion accessories

2.   Modeling clothing and or accessories made by developmentally challenged individuals in one sequence 

3.   Individuals with developmental challenges walk on the ramp along with modes/celebrities to spread global message of inclusive society


Rationale:

 

As per the World Bank estimation people with disabilities account for as many as one in five of the world’s poorest people, estimating 1.3 billion world wide living on less than $1 per day have a disability. Research by the World Bank and others suggests people with disabilities face a ‘vicious cycle’ of poverty and disability, being poor can cause disability and having a disability makes it more likely that you will be poor. 


The opportunities in promotion and production of items to support fashion sector by individuals with developmentally challenged is yet at a growing stage. These openings in promotion of work can assist to improve their living conditions and bring financial self sustenance to populace living under wage of $2 a day.

 

Awareness Programs:

Its focus is to promote public awareness regarding social inclusion.  This program is done by organizing seminars, exhibitions, conferences and fashion shows.

 

Vocational Training Programs:

The aim of this program is to provide employment to the people who are developmentally challenged. With deep roots in the Development area Disability Hub has serve and has extensive local knowledge and potential to deliver effective services, mobilizing local resources to address complex social and economic issues of women with physical disabilities. Disability Hub has been involved in many project related to poverty elimination targeting poorest of the poor populace. 

The various programs as per the need, interest and pre requisites skills consists of making of fashion Jewellery making, stitching, embroidery, gift baskets making, knitting, art & crafts.
The main aim of this program is to impart training and develop their skills which will facilitate them towards employment leading to financial self dependence.

 

The multiple and on-going vocational opportunities for the trainees which can enable them to participate in social, economic, research and other relevant areas can contribute them to enhance their quality of life along with financial sustenance.

Whole Sale/ Retail Kiosk:

 We supply various products at a whole sale rate to not for profit agencies, individuals  and community centers along with training and mentoring to set up social enterprise projects. (Please contact us for proposal)

We have retail outlets of products made by individuals with physical disabilities, marginalized populace and support groups.
