Our objective:
To support social enterprise of women with disabilities and difficulties
Rationale
According to World Bank’s estimation there are 1.3 billion of people with disabilities around the world who live on less than $1 per day. Research by the World Bank and others suggests people with disabilities face a ‘vicious cycle’ of poverty and disability, being poor can cause disability and having a disability makes it more likely that you will be poor.
We believe Social enterprise activities involving individuals with disabilities can assist to improve the living conditions of world poorest of the poor populace.
Awareness Programs:
Our focus is to promote public awareness regarding social enterprise activities. We do this by organizing and participating in support groups, seminars, exhibitions, conferences and fashion shows
Vocational Training Programs:
We aim to facilitate employment opportunities of individuals with disabilities. With deep roots in the development area, Disability Hub has served and has extensive local knowledge and potential to deliver effective services by mobilizing local resources. Disability Hub has been involved in many projects related to poverty elimination targeting poorest of the poor populace
Our programs as based on the need, interest and pre requisites skills of our artisans. We offer variety of programs like making of fashion jewelry, stitching and gift basket making. Our training aims to develop vocational skills which facilitate social enterprise activities. Through multiple and on-going production of products we aim to support economic development of our artisans.
Whole Sale/ Retail Kiosk:
Through this program we supply products at a manufacturing rate to not for profit agencies, individuals and community centers. We also offer training and mentoring support to set up their social enterprise projects.
Our retail outlets consist of products which support individuals with physical disabilities, and marginalized populace.
